## What is Pokennection?

Pokennection is a browser-based daily word/image puzzle game where players must group 16 Pokémon into 4 hidden categories. Each category shares a secret theme (e.g., "Pokémon that evolve with a Fire Stone", "Pokémon that appear in the first episode"). Players have 4 lives (Pokéballs) and lose one for every incorrect guess.

A new puzzle is released every day. Players can also replay past puzzles via the date selector in the menu.

## Game Modes

- **Daily mode (Images)**: Group 16 Pokémon sprites into 4 categories.
- **Daily mode (Names)**: Same puzzle but using Pokémon names instead of sprites.
- **Unlimited mode**: Play puzzles back-to-back to build the longest streak possible.

- Optional account to track stats, streaks and leaderboard ranking
- Leaderboard with Verified tier (players with photo and display name)
- Available in English and Spanish
- Community stats showing win/loss rate per puzzle

## Technical

- Built with Next.js, TypeScript, Supabase, and Tailwind CSS
- New puzzle seeded daily based on UTC date
